Memorizing 500 pi digits in a day

Updated: Jun 13, 2021

It's all been done before and it's quite simple just takes a bit of focus and time. I recited 500 digits in front of about 100 people. I'll use 500 digits as an example.

Steps

  1. Find "the master system" on wikipedia

  2. Google "memory palace" (You'll be creating a palace of 250 locations for 500 digits)

  3. Start memorizing the digits: Create a place and ASSIGN 2 numbers to that place and put it into a table

Done.

-Took me a few hours, maybe up to 4 hours to do 500 digits

-My best recitation time was under 3 minutes after practicing moving through the palace for about a week or two

Number - Place: Number (bolding, italics etc. emphasise certain locations)
