It's all been done before and it's quite simple just takes a bit of focus and time. I recited 500 digits in front of about 100 people. I'll use 500 digits as an example.
Steps
Find "the master system" on wikipedia
Google "memory palace" (You'll be creating a palace of 250 locations for 500 digits)
Start memorizing the digits: Create a place and ASSIGN 2 numbers to that place and put it into a table
+ practice using this link https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/220991/500-digits-of-pi
Done.
-Took me a few hours, maybe up to 4 hours to do 500 digits
-My best recitation time was under 3 minutes after practicing moving through the palace for about a week or two
Number - Place: Number (bolding, italics etc. emphasise certain locations)
